There has been one report that the interactive tests do not run with a browser used by AOL. However, when the same user went directly to the Internet with a standard browser, there was no problem.

America On Line (AOL) in some cases uses image compression.  Although this speeds downloads, it can make illustrations in the Television Production and Mass Media cybertexts (as well as Internet images in genera) appear rather blurry and the associated text unreadable.

If this is necessary,here's how to turn off this feature. (Although AOL software may vary according to version.)

First go to Members and then Preferences.

Then click on WWW and look for the Internet Properties graphic.

Make sure the Use compressed graphics option is turned off. (There should be no check in the box circled below.)

If you need to change the setting, click on the box and then click OK.

You need to restart the AOL software for a change to take effect.

If you are not using the latest version of the AOL browser it should be available here. Click here, and then click on "AOL Members click here to Upgrade."
