Insanity Causes Television I'm convinced television doesn't cause insanity... ...insanity causes television. Consider. A 30-second story showing gruesome footage of 20 people who died in a terrorists explosion in Jerusalem... ...is followed by 60-seconds of "stories" urgently extolling the virtues of Pampers and Tony the Tiger Frosted Flakes. Did I hear a reporter say: "We'll have interviews with those who lost their parents and children in this brutal and senseless attack, right after we break away for this message about the tragedy of static cling?" Tomorrow will undoubtedly be the same; more carnage followed by more urgent news about inane products. Things are normal. So, what's my point? If you have to ask, that's my point. |
